The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion. 1 ആരും ഓടിക്കാതെ ദുഷ്ടന്മാർ ഓടിപ്പോകുന്നു; നീതിമാന്മാരോ ബാലസിംഹംപോലെ നിർഭയമായിരിക്കുന്നു. 2 ദേശത്തെ അതിക്രമംനിമിത്തം അതിലെ പ്രഭുക്കന്മാർ പലരായിരിക്കുന്നു; ബുദ്ധിയും പരിജ്ഞാനവും ഉള്ളവർ മുഖാന്തരമോ അതിന്റെ വ്യവസ്ഥ ദീർഘമായി നില്ക്കുന്നു. 3 അഗതികളെ പീഡിപ്പിക്കുന്ന ദരിദ്രൻ വിളവിനെ വെച്ചേക്കാതെ ഒഴുക്കിക്കളയുന്ന മഴപോലെയാകുന്നു. 4 ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തെ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നവർ ദുഷ്ടനെ പ്രശംസിക്കുന്നു; ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തെ കാക്കുന്നവരോ അവരോടു എതിർക്കുന്നു. 5 ദുഷ്ടന്മാർ ന്യായം തിരിച്ചറിയുന്നില്ല; യഹോവയെ അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നവരോ സകലവും തിരിച്ചറിയുന്നു. 6 തന്റെ വഴികളിൽ വക്രനായി നടക്കുന്ന ധനവാനെക്കാൾ പരമാർത്ഥതയിൽ നടക്കുന്ന ദരിദ്രൻ ഉത്തമൻ. 7 ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തെ പ്രമാണിക്കുന്നവൻ ബുദ്ധിയുള്ള മകൻ; അതിഭക്ഷകന്മാർക്കു സഖിയായവനോ അപ്പനെ അപമാനിക്കുന്നു. 8 പലിശയും ലാഭവും വാങ്ങി സമ്പത്തു വർദ്ധിപ്പിക്കുന്നവൻ അഗതികളോടു കൃപാലുവായവന്

He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly. அவர் நீதிமான்களுக்கென்று மெய்ஞ்ஞானத்தை வைத்துவைத்திருக்கிறார்; உத்தமமாய் நடக்கிறவர்களுக்கு அவர் கேடகமாயிருக்கிறார். 1. My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee; 2. So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding; 3. Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding; 4. If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures; 5. Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God. 6. For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding. 7. He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly. 8. He keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of his saints. 9.
